Description
A delightful breakfast mashup that combines the best of cinnamon rolls and French toast in one delicious bite!
Ingredients
- 10 slices white sandwich bread
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons butter for frying
Instructions
1. Remove crusts from the bread slices and use a rolling pin to flatten each slice.
2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
3. Spread the mixture evenly on each bread slice, leaving a small border at the edges.
4. Roll up each slice tightly and seal the edge with gentle pressure.
5. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter.
7. Dip each roll in the egg mixture and place seam-side down in the skillet.
8. Cook for about 2–3 minutes total, rotating the roll-ups so all sides brown evenly.
Notes
Use fresh, soft bread for easier rolling.
Avoid oversoaking the rolls in the egg mixture.
Keep heat at medium to prevent burning while frying.
These roll-ups can be made ahead and reheated.
They freeze well for up to 1 month.
